Tax Type

The Tax Type field may be screen painted onto the Profile screen More Fields tab in order to display a list of acceptable tax types. Staff may then make a selection from this standard list when entering the guest tax type.

To configure tax types, select System Configuration>Profile>Geographical Data>Custom>Tax Type. The Tax Types screen appears.

The screen includes the following information.

Code. Code for the tax type.

Description. Description of the tax type.

Seq. Code display sequence number.

Adding and Editing Tax Types

Select the New button from the Tax Types screen to create a new tax type. To edit an existing tax type, highlight your choice and select the Edit button. The Tax Types - New or Tax Types - Edit screen appears. Provide the following information and select the OK button.

Code. Enter a code that represents the tax type. This code may not be changed when editing a tax type.

Description. Enter a description of the tax type.

Display Seq. Enter a number that will determine the position of the tax type code when it is displayed in lists of tax types. Tax types that do not have a sequence number assigned are displayed in alphabetical order following those codes that have a sequence number.
