Description. Screen painting is template-based for ease of use when applying screen painted fields to a chain and multiple chains. The template name selected here is the screen painter template that will be used for all properties in the chain. The template can be applied in ASP and non-ASP modes.

Internal Name. SCREEN_PAINTER_TEMPLATE

Property Determination.

Activation / Inactivation Rules.

By default, the application setting value for the template name is set to the chain code of the property.

To create a new template name, enter a new, non-existing value in the Value field. The new template name does not have to match an existing chain code and can be free format (avoid special characters). The new template name must be created before starting Screen Painter.

When modifying screens in screen painter, records are created in the dynamic_fields table. The chain_code in dynamic_fields stores the new template name. The template will apply the screen painting to the properties within the chain. In OPERA to Hosting (O2H), templates eliminate the need for downtime when migrating into an existing or new chain.
