About Front Desk
The Front Desk module integrates many critical functions to provide the highest level of speed and service available today. Front desk personnel can make reservations, check guests in and out, process credit cards, issue keys, and perform other property management tasks with ease.
OPERA facilitates an instant, one-step check-in process. Front desk personnel just swipe their guest's credit card and the system automatically brings up the guest's reservation and applies payment information to their credit card. Credit authorization can be obtained in real time and door locking system automatically cuts the guest's room key at the same time, eliminating double entry of information. Checking out is equally efficient, with a one- step process that brings up all guest charges and automatically invalidates room keys.
Group and tour processing are also streamlined. By noting the impending arrival of a group, the system can prepare room keys for each guest and check-in all tour guests at once, no matter what the size of the group. The system's sophisticated room management capability allows hotel management to pick up rooms via a rooming list or individual pick-ups. OPERA can also be set to automatically cut off groups if all held rooms are not picked up by a pre-determined date.
Check-in and check-us-out with the following Front Desk menu options:
Arrivals - Check in guests with and without reservations. From the Arrivals Search Results screen you can also process cancellations, print registration cards, access guest profiles and reservation options.
In House Guests - View and modify reservation information and/or profiles of guests in house. Change any of the reservation information except the arrival date, cancel a check- in, move a guest to another room and perform various other actions also offered in the horizontal reservation menu like creating billing instructions, leaving a message, entering fixed charges, etc.
Accounts - Open accounts in the property for guests who do not have a room.
Room Assignment - Assign room numbers easily and rapidly before checking in.
Messages - Send display and send messages to groups and individual guests. Send messages to all guests individually, by group, and by other distinctions. Keep an unlimited number of messages for every guest, mark the messages as received or not received, and print the messages in a user-definable format.
Traces - Notify your colleagues at the property about actions that they must take relative to the reservation or on the guest's behalf. Traces allow you to specify the responsible department and the date and time when the action must be completed.
