Audit

The Application Settings>End of Day>Audit parameter must be active for you to balance each transaction code and ensure no paperwork is missing. This procedure runs immediately after Posting the Room and Tax, Profit and Loss. This feature balances all Manual and Interface postings from the day. They include those postings that have occurred in the posting of the Room and Tax of tonight.

With the Income Audit parameter activated, the Audit procedure is incorporated into the End of Day Routine run.

This procedure is used to balance each transaction code and ensure that no paperwork is missing, verifying the sum of each transaction code used throughout the selected business day.

Trans. Code. The screen displays all the Net Transactions as they show in the Trial Balance, and all manual and interface transaction codes with charges posted to them for the day.

Trn. Description. The description of the transaction code.

# of Trn. The Number of Transactions made to that transaction code during the audit date. This helps the auditor verify that they are not missing any paperwork.

Amount. The Amount column is used for the auditor to input the sum of all charges made to the transaction code during the audit date. This lets the auditor double-check the postings to each code.

Select the Audit button once all the amounts have been entered. OPERA processes each of the transactions. For each correct amount, an X appears to the right of the amount. If the auditor entered an incorrect amount, an X appears in that column and the amount field clears.

The auditor has three attempts to enter the correct amount. After the third attempt, OPERA automatically enters the correct amount, an X appears to the right of the amount, and the auditor can then close out of the form and continue with the End of Day Routine. A log file is created for each transaction code and amount inserted along with the user ID for each attempt.
