CC PRE CHECK IN AUTHORIZATION Application Setting

Group.  Reservations

Type.  Parameter

Application.

PMS

Description. Ability to pre-authorize credit cards on reservations prior to check in.

Internal Name. CC_PRE_CHECK_IN_AUTHORIZATION

Property Determination. Activation of this parameter allows a property to obtain credit card authorizations for guests arriving on the current business date, without checking in the guest at that time. This will accommodate the scenarios where the guest is ready to check in, presents the card to be swiped, but the room is not ready yet. This would allow the credit card to be swiped so that when the room is ready, the room keys could be delivered to the guest, instead of the guest having to return to the reception area.

If a due in reservation already has sufficient authorization, user will not be prompted with a question "Do you wish to authorize the credit card(s) for this pre-check in reservation". However if any changes occur to the reservation that necessitate additional authorization, then the prompt will appear.

Irrespective of whether the guest is arriving on the current business date or in the future, credit card authorizations prior to check in are recorded with a transaction type of PRE CHECKIN.

Note: The Credit Cards reservation option will be grayed out for reservations that are not checked in if this parameter is set to N.
