ADS Booking Limit Service

The ADS Booking Limit Service is a Windows .NET Service that wakes up specific intervals (specified in the configuration file; generally every 6 hours) and prepares inventory status and booking notification messages to be sent to the ADS host. To enable the ADS Booking Limit Service, select the Booking Limit checkbox when creating or modifying the channel. The booking notification is sent for all ARI-enabled ADS channel properties.

In the initial booking limit upload, the status message includes real time inventory calculations for the number of days specified in the Initial Upload Days field when creating or modifying the channel. If the initial upload days are not specified, 30 days of information is sent by default. After the initial upload days, the booking limit message includes the value defined in the Booking Limit field for the channel property for all valid room types, and the booking limit value will continue to be sent up until the value defined in the Future Availability Days field when creating or modifying the channel. If the Future Availability Days field on the Channel Setup screen is set to 90 days, then booking limit notification messages will be generated up to 90 days in the future. If not specified, the default value is set to 365 days.

The Open percentage used for the real time inventory calculation may be configured in the Open Percentage field of the Channel Threshold screen.

After the initial upload, the booking limit only includes delta information, meaning the message only includes a change in availability for a specific room type for the affected days. On a date roll-over (a new business date), the message will contain complete updates for the new business date deltas.

Note: When the Update the block inventory count field is selected when creating or modifying the channel, the GWIZ Business Event service receives the block inventory changes from Opera and the MICROS ADS Booking Limit service sends all availability information at the routine interval. If the checkbox is not selected, the ADS Booking Limit Service service performs both functions.
