Description.  Parameter allows the user to run the Posting Room and Tax step in the foreground during the End of Day process.

Internal Name. POST_ROOM_AND_TAX_IN_FOREGROUND_MODE

Property Determination. This parameter allows a property to post room and tax in the foreground during the End of Day process (when set to Y), or to post room and tax in the background during the End of Day process (when set to N, the default). When foreground room and tax posting is selected, the posting process is controlled by the local PC rather than using a session running on the database server (called a "background process"). Background processing is usually employed. However, for performance reasons, using foreground posting might be useful in very large multi property environments where End of Day processing is being run simultaneously by multiple properties which might be attempting to post room and tax at the same time.

Note: When posting room and tax in foreground mode, should the local Opera session be killed, posting of room and tax will be halted. When posting room and tax in background mode, the process is independent of the local Opera session.
