Function Space Setup Styles

The Function Space Setup screen may be used to select the setup styles (for example, seating arrangements or furniture and equipment configurations) available for a function space. To access this screen, select the Setup button from the Function Space tab on the Rooms - New or Rooms - Edit screen.

The Function Space tab on the Rooms - New or Rooms - Edit screen is used to configure those rooms that are employed primarily as meeting spaces and for catering events. You may access this screen by selecting System Configuration>Reservations>Function Space Classifications>Function Space when the OPS<version number> OPERA S&C license is active; or, when the Blocks>Diary application function is set to Y, you may access this screen by selecting System Configuration>Reservations>Catering>Function Space.

The Function Space Setup screen shows the following information.

Space Name. View-only field showing the name of the function space to which the setup styles selected on this screen apply.

The grid on the left, Master Styles, shows the setup styles that are available for this function space.  These setup styles are configured using the Function Setup Styles screen. You may access this screen by selecting System Configuration>Reservations>Function Space Classifications>Function Setup Styles when the OPS<version number> OPERA S&C license is active; or, when the Blocks>Diary application function is set to Y, you may access this screen by selecting System Configuration>Reservations>Catering>Function Setup Styles.  See Function Space Setup Styles Configuration for details. Information here includes:

Setup Style. Name of the setup style.

Code. The code associated with the setup style.

The grid on the right, Selected Styles, shows the setup styles and related information for the setup styles that have been selected for this function space. Information here includes:

Setup Style. Name of the setup style.

Min/Max. Minimum and maximum number of persons that can be accommodated by the function space when set up in this style.

Setup. Number of minutes required to set up this function space in the associates setup style (e.g., time needed to bring in furniture, position and drape tables, and arrange chairs). This amount of time is indicated by plus signs (+++) preceding the actual start-time of the event on the Function Diary.

Set Down. Number of minutes required to dismantle this function space when configured in the associates setup style. This amount of time is indicated by minus signs (--- ) following the event end-time on the Function Diary.

Def. An X in this column indicates that this setup style is the default for the function space.

Selecting Setup Styles

To make a setup style available for the function space identified in the Space Name field, highlight your choice of setup style in the Master Styles grid and pick the Add button. The setup style you chose will be listed in the Selected Style Name grid. Provide the following Minimum and Maximum occupancy, Setup and Set Down times, then select the Save or OK buttons.

To remove a setup style from the Selected Styles grid, highlight your choice and select the Remove button. The setup style will return to the Master Styles grid.
