Tax Category

The Tax Category field may be screen painted onto the Profile screen More Fields tab in order to display a list of acceptable tax categories for the individual. Staff may then make a selection from this standard list.

To configure tax categories, select System Configuration>Profile>Geographical Data>Custom>Tax Category. The Tax Category Codes screen appears.

The screen includes the following information.

Code. Code for the tax category.

Description. Description of the tax category.

Seq. Code display sequence number.

Adding and Editing Tax Categories

Select the New button from the Tax Categories screen to create a new tax category. To edit an existing tax category, highlight your choice and select the Edit button. The Tax Category Codes - New or Tax Category Codes - Edit screen appears. Provide the following information and select the OK button.

Code. Enter a code that represents the tax category. This code may not be changed when editing a tax category.

Description. Enter a description of the tax category.

Display Seq. Enter a number that will determine the position of the tax category code when it is displayed in lists of tax categories. Tax categories that do not have a sequence number assigned are displayed in alphabetical order following those codes that have a sequence number.
