Update Membership Types

At times, it may be necessary to replace one membership type with another membership type. For example, this might be the case if one membership type is being phased out and is being replaced by a new membership type. When changing membership types you may also select the specific membership level you wish to change, as well as specifying the membership level to be assigned to members of the new membership type. (For example, you may change Silver level members of membership type AA to VIP level members of membership type DL.)

To change one membership type to another membership type select Utilities>Update Membership Types. Changes made using this utility will apply to membership information stored as part of the profile data and to membership information associated with current and future reservations. (For a list of affected database tables, see Tables Updated by the Update Membership Types Utility, below.)

Note: This utility may not be used to create new membership types or membership levels. Membership types and membership levels involved in the update must be configured prior to running this utility.

When you select Utilities>Update Membership Types, the Update Membership Information screen appears.

You may change from one membership type to another membership type (e.g., AA to DL), with the following changes to membership level information.

• If a membership level is specified for the From Member Type, only memberships of the specified level will be changed to the To Member Type.
• If a membership level is not specified for the From Member Type, all members, regardless of level, will be changed to the To Member Type.
• If a membership level is specified for the To Member Type, the specified level will be applied to the members when the membership type is changed.
• If a membership level is not specified for the To Member Type, no membership level will be applied to the members when the membership type is changed.

  Note: You may not use this utility to change membership levels within a membership type (e.g., From Member Type AA/From Member Level Gold To Member Type AA/To Member Level Silver).

Updating Membership Types

To update membership types, provide the following information and select the OK button. A message will confirm that the changes have been made.

From Member Type. Select the down arrow to choose the membership type to be targeted by the update.

From Member Level. Select the down arrow to choose the membership level to be targeted by the update. (All levels of the From Member Type are affected if this field is left blank.)

To Member Type. Select the down arrow to choose the membership type to be assigned in place of the From Member Type.

To Member Level. Select the down arrow to choose the membership level to be assigned to memberships targeted by this update. (No membership level is assigned if this field is left blank.)
