public class DefaultDelegate
extends oracle.odi.domain.mapping.MapComponentDelegate

A default component delegate class. The delegate performs component type specific tasks for the component. Each component type has an associated delegate class that is instantiated whenever a component of the matching type is created. The default delegate can be instantiated for any component type that has been registered, and it will perform basic functionality according to the metadata loaded from the XML component definition file.

getNextAvailableInput

Retrieves the next available unconnected input for the component. If all current inputs are connected, a new input point is created. If this component has more than one input role, it is impossible to determine which role to use in determining the allowed number of inputs, and an exception will be thrown if a new CP is being created. This method is intended only for simple components with a single input role. Also, getNextAvailableInput may return ICPs with different roles on consecutive calls, as it simply iterates through the full list of input CPs. Usually, a null name is passed to avoid renaming an existing unconnected CP. If the name is not null or empty, the CP is renamed. If a new CP is created, and the name is null or empty, a name is created based on the input role.
