Servers: Configuration: Federation Services: Publish SAML 2.0 Metadata
This page writes the SAML 2.0 metadata for this server to a file.
The OASIS SAML 2.0 specification defines a metadata schema for the purpose of exchanging configuration information -- for example, SAML bindings, PKI information, contact information, etc. -- between two business partners to support web single sign-on. After you have configured the SAML 2.0 services available from this server, you publish the configuration information in a metadata file that you share with your business partners. This information can be shared via a variety of mechanisms; for example, via secure email or FTP. Your business partners then import this metadata file into their SAML 2.0 service to obtain the configuration data they need to enable.
In the field next to Path, enter the full path and filename of the metadata file. For example,
C:\mydomain\myserver\my-saml2-metadata.xml
.When specifying the SAML 2.0 metadata file, note the following:
- You may enter the path of the directory containing the metadata file, or navigate to it by selecting a subdirectory displayed below Current Location.
- The directory you specify for the metadata file must exist on your machine.
- The metadata filename must include the
.xml
file type.- Select Overwrite to update an existing metadata file.
- Click OK.
