Interface HostID

HostID is used by the RMI runtime to represent the process that hosts a remote object. Implementations of HostID are required to overide java.lang.Object methods toString(), hashCode and equals().

Method Summary
`String`	`getServerName()` The server name is a human readable form of identity.
`boolean`	`isLocal()` Determine whether this ServerIdentity represents the currently running server.
`String`	`objectToString()` Returns the string representation of this HostID in a form that can be parsed by the corresponding stringToObject implementation.

Method Detail

isLocal

boolean isLocal()

Determine whether this ServerIdentity represents the currently running server.

Returns:: true or false.

objectToString

String objectToString()

Returns the string representation of this HostID in a form that can be parsed by the corresponding stringToObject implementation. This method is used primarily to test DGC.

getServerName

String getServerName()

The server name is a human readable form of identity. Code should not use this for determining equivalence.

Returns:: A String identifying the server.
