Ensure that all prerequisites are met before performing any software and firmware update so that your software and firmware update is successful.
For minor updates (for example, R6.1 to R6.2) and patch release updates (for example, R6.1.1 to R6.1.2), perform the following actions:
On the Software and Firmware page, verify the currently installed release to ensure that you staged the correct package. Your staged release should be more recent than your installed release.
On the System Alerts page, check for system alerts and resolve all issues by performing the recommended actions. Contact Oracle Customer Support if you require assistance.
On the Status Summary page, ensure that all Oracle FS System Manager statuses are Normal.
On the Tasks page, check for tasks that are pending. If you have tasks that are pending, the system waits for the existing tasks to complete before running the update.
Ensure that all prerequisites are met for any minor and patch release updates.
Halt all data path I/O.
Open a service request with Oracle Customer Support to ensure that a system audit is not required.
For a Pilot BIOS update, ensure that you have a USB keyboard and VGA monitor, as well as the login credentials for the Pilot root password and the Oracle Integrated Lights Out Manager (ILOM) root password. See Oracle FS1-2 Flash Storage System Field Service Guide for more information.
