Statistical data is collected to help compare storage management objectives with storage performance. The statistical data is also used to supplement troubleshooting storage performance issues.
The Oracle FS System collects statistical data that enables you to perform the following tasks:
- Monitor system performance
- Review performance details by port, storage object, protocol, and Control Unit
- Analyze performance details to improve overall metrics
Performance data is available for the following functions:
- Drive Group
- CPU
- SAN LUNs
- SAN Controller Protocols
Statistical data is displayed as either performance or real-time data. The data is updated as follows:
- Performance data
- Performance data is refreshed every two minutes. An example of performance data is the data displayed under , overview page.
- Real-time data
- Real-time data is refreshed every second. An example of real-time data is the LUN Real Time Statistics graph.
Note: Data is refreshed automatically if the Configure Automatic Screen Updates is set to the default value, Enable Automatic Screen Updates. If this is disabled, you need to use the keyboard combination of Ctrl-Alt-R to manually refresh the data. To change the settings, navigate to .
You can also access the following statistical data:
- Historical data
- Historical data is available from a minimum of the previous one hour to a period you specify in hours or days. For further information on collecting and analyzing historical data, refer to the Oracle Flash Storage System Statistics Tools User’s Guide.
- Predefined report data
- Statistical data is also available through predefined reports such as Storage Performance. These reports are available under .
