Remove from Storage Domain Dialog

Navigation: System > Storage Domains > Actions > Remove from Storage Domain

Removes the selected drive group from a Storage Domain.

After a drive group is removed from a Storage Domain, the drive group is displayed as unassigned. If you want to move a drive group from one Storage Domain to another, remove the drive group from the Storage Domain and then add the drive group to a different Storage Domain.

Note: Removing drive groups from Storage Domains can take many hours and the system only processes one removal at a time. Therefore, it is recommended that you select all drive groups you need to remove and remove the drive groups in a single operation.

Migration Policy

System Chooses: (Default) Specifies that the system balances the resources that are needed for background data movement with the resources that are needed to service the incoming client I/⁠O.
Minimize Impact: Specifies that the system restricts the amount of system resources that are given to the background data movement operation. This option minimizes the impact on client I/⁠O. Recommended for highly‑loaded Storage Domains.
Maximize Speed: Specifies that the system grants resource priority to the background data movement operation. This option reduces the amount of system resources that are available for client I/⁠O. Recommended for lightly‑loaded Storage Domains.
