Create an Event Notification

Create event notifications so that the system can generate email when specific events occur in the Oracle FS System. You can specify the types of system events that trigger alerts, as well as designate the recipients who receive the notices.

If you do not set up notices, you can still monitor system events using the event log. Call‑Home notifications are independent of email notifications and will be sent to Oracle Customer Support about issues in the Oracle FS System.

  1. Navigate to System > Alerts and Events > Event Notification.
  2. Select Actions > Create.
  3. Enter a name for the event notification.
  4. Enter a description for the event notification.
  5. To enable the notification, select Enable Event Notification.
  6. Review the list of events.
Tip: To sort the list by severity, click By severity, then category. To sort the list by category, click By category, then severity.
Tip: To expand or collapse the list of events, click the expand ( alternate image text ) or collapse ( alternate image text ) symbols.
  7. From the Monitored Events list, select the events that you want to trigger the notification.
  8. To add one or more event notification recipients, click Add.
    Example:

For example, to be notified of any login failures, in the Events Not Monitored column navigate to the Informational > Audit list. Select Login Failed, and then click the right-facing arrow to move the item to the Monitored Events column.

Tip: To add an entire event type, select the severity or category name and move that event type to the Monitored Events column.

Example: For example, to monitor all Critical events, select Critical and move the event type to the Monitored Events column.
  9. Enter the email address of each notification recipient.
  10. (Optional) Click Test Email to make sure that the alert is sent to the correct email addresses and that the SMTP server is properly configured.
Note: Allow at least 10 minutes between email tests.
  11. (Optional) To remove an email address from the list, select the address and click Remove.
  12. Click OK.
