Install Oracle FS System Software (JAR)

After you download the Oracle FS System application archive, extract the files to a workstation before using the software. The archive contains a self‑contained JAR (Java archive) file and the scripts needed to run Oracle FS System Manager (GUI) and Oracle MaxMan applications.

  1. Locate the client software archive file on the workstation.
  2. Extract the contents of the archive file to a directory of your choosing on the client host where you expect to be using the software.
    • For ZIP files, use a ZIP utility to extract the files.

    • For TAR or TGZ files, use TAR or a similar utility to extract the files.

  3. (Optional) Add the directory where you extracted the contents of the archive files to your PATH environment variable.
This allows you to run the executable from any directory on your system.
    Linux or Unix

Edit your login shell to add the directory to your PATH statement.

    Windows

Edit the PATH variable by navigating to My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Environment Variables.
