Manage System Halt Points

You can enable halt points for diagnostic purposes. Halt points pause the startup sequence of the Oracle FS System at the specified component step, allowing you to perform various diagnostics tasks.

Caution
Use system halt points for troubleshooting purposes only. System halt points are used to gather information or to clear conditions that cannot otherwise be accomplished. Never set or clear halt points without assistance from Oracle Customer Support. Only the Primary administrator and the Support administrator can manage system halt points.
  1. Navigate to Support > System Halt Points.
  2. Select Actions > Manage Halt Points.
    Result:

The system displays a list of available halt points. The system displays a check mark in the Paused on Halt Point column where the startup sequence has halted.

  3. (Optional) Select the Active box for each the step where you want the system to halt.
Note: You can enable up to eight halt points on your system.

    Result:
  4. (Optional) To remove all active halt points in the list, click Clear.
Clearing all active halt points enables the system, when you instruct it to continue, to resume the startup process without any additional system halts.
  5. If you selected one or more halt points, click OK.

The selected halt points display in the System Halt Points overview page.

After the system restarts, the system pauses at the designated halt point. The System Halt Points overview page displays a check mark in the Paused on Halt Point column where the system has paused. You can perform diagnostic tasks such as collecting logs, reviewing the contents of system tables, and so forth. After you complete these tasks, you can direct the system to continue the startup process.
