Replace a Component

To maintain or to restore reliability to an Oracle FS System, you sometimes need to replace a component.

Oracle supports only Oracle-supplied components in an Oracle FS System.

Guided Maintenance in Oracle FS System Manager (GUI) provides you a step-by-step graphical representation of the hardware replacement process. Guided Maintenance in the GUI is the preferred method of hardware replacement.

Caution

Hardware that does not conform to Oracle specifications or is not an Oracle-supplied component might compromise data integrity and voids the warranty of the Oracle FS System.

Navigate to System > Hardware and then select Controllers or Drive Enclosures.
In the overview page, click the Controller or Drive Enclosure that contains the component that you want to replace.
Select Actions > View.
On the Components tab in the View dialog, select the component that you want to replace and click Replace Component.
Follow the instructions provided by Guided Maintenance to repair the component.

Click Finish.
