Rack-ready systems require you to install the Oracle FS System components, cords, and PDUs manually. For rack-ready systems, power cords are shipped along with the components inside the shipping cartons.
First, connect the power cords from the Oracle FS System components (Drive Enclosures, Controllers, and Pilots) to the PDU outlets inside the rack. The power cords are C13 to C14 left angled, single-phase power cords and are usually rated at 110V and carry relatively low amperage.
Then, connect the Oracle FS System to the main power supply in the data center by using power cables. The power cables routed into a rack to supply power to the PDUs are often rated at 220V and are larger than the internal power cords. These multi-phase power cables might be connected to special 220V or 440v outlets or, sometimes, to an electrical bus.
Connecting the Oracle FS System components (Drive Enclosures, Controllers, and Pilots) to the PDU outlets: The Drive Enclosure to PDU connections uses 90 degree power cords. The Controllers and Pilots have straight connectors.
Connecting the Oracle FS System to the main power supply in the data center: The main power supply connections use two power cables that are shipped with Oracle racks and enter into the PDU about mid-rack.
