Configuring the Siebel Gateway Name Server for Automatic Start

If, during the installation, you selected automatic restart of the Siebel Gateway Name Server, then you have to complete the procedure that follows to configure the Siebel Gateway Name Server to start automatically. You run the Siebel Gateway Name Server service as the same nonroot user who installed the software.

After making the changes described in this topic for your operating system, the Siebel Gateway Name Server starts automatically when you restart your server and stops automatically when you shut down the server.

NOTE:  Remember that the Siebel Gateway Name Server must be the first service to start, and the last to shut down, among all of the servers in the Siebel Enterprise that are served by that Siebel Gateway Name Server.
