12 Oracle Virtual Platform

This chapter describes the metrics associated with the Oracle Virtual Platform target. The Oracle Virtual Platform is the host operating system that represents the hypervisor domain.

12.1 Basic Configuration Details

This metric category provides information about the basic configuration of an Oracle Virtual Platform target.

These are configuration metrics and cannot be viewed from the All Metrics page in the Cloud Control UI.

12.1.1 Platform Version

This metric displays the version of the Xen platform running on the Domain 0 of the hypervisor.

This metric category provides information about the CPU interrupts.

12.2.1 CPU Number

This metric provides the user-specified CPU number that the user cares about.

This metric category provides the statistics of each local disk of the Oracle Virtual Platform.

Setting Multiple Thresholds

For this metric category, you can set different warning and critical threshold values for each Disk Name metric.

This metric category provides the statistics of all the file system mount points of the Oracle Virtual Platform.

12.9 Log File Monitor

This metric category enables administrators to monitor one or more log files for the occurrence of one or more text patterns in the content. In addition, the operator can specify a text pattern to be ignored for the log file. Periodic scanning is performed against new content added since the last scan. Lines matching the ignore pattern are ignored first, then lines matching specified match patterns result in one record being uploaded to the Management Repository for each pattern. You can set a threshold against the number of lines matching this pattern. File rotation is handled within the given file.

12.9.1 Log File Name

This metric provides the name of the log file to monitor.

12.9.5 Log File Pattern Matched Line Count

This metric returns the number of lines matching the pattern specified in this file. Setting warning or critical thresholds against this metric for a specific log file name, match pattern, or ignore pattern, triggers the monitoring of specified criteria against this log file.

For this metric you can set different warning and critical threshold values for each unique combination of Log File Name, Match Pattern and Ignore Pattern objects.

12.10 Network Activity

This metric category provides the statistics of each network interface of the Oracle Virtual Platform target.

For this metric category, you can set different warning and critical threshold values for each Interface Name object.
