Performing a Siebel Smart Answer Search in Siebel Open UI


The Siebel Search Center supports integration with the Siebel Smart Answer knowledge base for manual or automated searches. For information on configuring and using Siebel Smart Answer, see Siebel Smart Answer Guide.

To perform a Siebel Smart Answer search in Siebel Open UI

  1. Select Search from the application-level menu.
  2. From the Look In list, select the Smart Answer category you want to search against.

    Options include the following:

    • Smart Answer
    • Smart Answer Service Request
  3. Enter your search criteria in the Search textbox, including the search operator.

    The table in Performing a Basic Search Operation in Siebel Open UI describes the supported search operators.

  4. Click Search to view the search results.

    The results are displayed in the Smart Answer All Results view.

    NOTE:  No configuration is required for the new Smart Answer All Results view, which is available by default in Siebel CRM. In Siebel Tools, the business service is Invoke Search, the name of the user property is GotoOUISAFindResultsView, and the value is Smart Answer All Results View.

  5. From the Smart Answer All Results view, click the hyperlink to go to the results of your search.
