About Installing Siebel Business Applications

Before installing Siebel Enterprise Server components or Siebel Web Server Extension, review the following and perform any necessary preinstallation tasks:

After installation, you configure server modules using the Siebel Configuration Wizards. Perform configuration after installing the current release, Siebel CRM version 15.0, and then installing the latest Siebel Patchset release, where available.

The migration installation tasks are a new type of patch installation provided for Siebel Enterprise Server and SWSE installers. You perform migration installations using the same installers (for the current release) that you use for new installations. A migration installation applies settings from your existing installation to a new installation. The existing Oracle home name, installation location, installation languages, server configuration data, and other settings are used for the new installation. Before the new installation is performed, the existing installation is moved to a backup location and can no longer be used.
