Define a Print Area

After completing this topic, you will be able create a print area.

Steps:

  1. The Recorder captures the action area for each process step that you record. The action area does not include the field label for the field. Action areas appear in the Player in topic playback.

Depending on the application, and if the Recorder detects field label, the Recorder may also capture a separate print area that includes the field label. Print areas appear in document outputs.

Steps 2 to 6 contain print areas, which include the field labels.

Since Step 1 does not contain a print area, the action area printed instead. Notice that the action area is blank and contains no information to help the user. The steps that include print areas provide more information and context for the user.
