Oracle FS System Manager

Oracle FS System Manager (GUI), pictured below, allows you to deploy, to provision, to manage, and to maintain an Oracle FS System.

The GUI eliminates the complexity of provisioning tiered storage. For example, you can select the appropriate application storage profile to provision and to tune the storage easily by preselecting the appropriate QoS parameters.

Using the storage attributes that you provide through the GUI, the system implements predictive application performance characteristics before it physically provisions the storage. This feature puts you in control of resource allocation.

The Pilot runs the management interface for the Oracle FS System. The GUI, along with the other software that is implemented in the Oracle FS System, enables policy-based provisioning that has the following features:
  • QoS Plus, which automatically places parts of a SAN LUN onto appropriate storage tiers with the goal of balancing the needs of the business with the management of system resources

  • Fault management, which automatically moves system resources to a partner component to accommodate component failure or replacement while maintaining data availability

  • Guided Maintenance, which guides you through every step of replacing a hardware component, including the recabling of the component

Note: If you prefer a command line interface for configuring and monitoring the Oracle FS System, you can use the Oracle FS CLI (FSCLI) to manage the system.
