Delete a Storage Domain

When you no longer need a Storage Domain, you can delete it.
Prerequisites
  • The Storage Domain that you want to delete must not contain any logical volumes. If the Storage Domain contains any logical volumes, delete those volumes or move those volumes to another Storage Domain.
  • The Storage Domain that you want to delete must not have any drive groups assigned to the domain. If any drive groups are assigned to the Storage Domain, perform the following actions:
    • If any of the drive groups contain any logical volumes, delete those volumes or move them to another Storage Domain.

    • Remove the drive groups from the Storage Domain.

  1. Navigate to System > Storage Domains.
  2. Select the Storage Domain to delete.
  3. Select Actions > Delete Storage Domain.
  4. Click OK.
    One of the following occurs:
    • If the operation is successful, the Storage Domain is removed from the system.

    • If the operation is unsuccessful, the system does not remove the Storage Domain and displays an appropriate error dialog:
      • The Storage Domain contains one or more logical volumes.

      • The Storage Domain has one or more drive groups assigned to it.

      If the operation is unsuccessful, move any volumes residing on the Storage Domain to another Storage Domain, if appropriate. Then remove the drive groups.
