Shutting down the host operating system on the Pilot and the Controller using the "standby power button" is not permitted. To remove power from a chassis completely, remove the power cords from the PDU. The “standby power button” only allows you to put the Pilot and the Controller into a standby mode for troubleshooting using the ILOM. To re-apply main power to the Oracle FS System, re-connect the power cords to the PDU. The green Power/OK LED on the front panel of both the Pilot and the Controller blinks steadily. As the Pilots and the Controllers complete booting, their OK LEDs become solid.
The Oracle FS System is composed of many hardware components and software processes that have dependencies on other components and processes. To ensure that all dependencies are satisfied and that the Oracle FS System is shut down in an orderly fashion, use the Shut Down option.
While the system is in a shutdown state, the Oracle FS System Manager (GUI) is still running and accessible. The only actions that you can perform from the GUI are to display system status, collect logs, and restart the Oracle FS System.
The system displays the Confirm Shut Down dialog.
When you are ready to restart the system, use the
action.
