Remarks on program function

The (drinks) dispensers in use in the company not only have to be physically connected up they must also be included in the program. Links to article, POS and drinks dispenser must also be established to allow an article to be recorded at each POS terminal.

Four programs define the functioning.

• A dispenser type no. and a name (normally the name of the dispenser type) are assigned in program Dispenser type. The type no. functions as an index.
• A Dispenser table is then linked to a branch and a POS terminal with the program of the same name. Several dispenser tables can therefore be programmed per company, per branch and per POS terminal.
• The drinks dispensers are described in program Dispenser description which is called up from Dispenser table (connection to system unit, interface, etc.).
• The drinks articles are linked to a type of dispenser with update Article.

The graphic Dispenser shows the program interconnections.

Note:

• This interconnection is not necessary if the drinks dispensers are self-service.
• Self-service dispensers imply that all articles can be removed from the dispenser without any limitations as soon as the waiter is signed on. Please note that any waiter-related restrictions (e.g. table nos., etc.) are not relevant to drinks dispensers.
• Supervised dispensing implies that liquids can only be removed from the dispenser after the article has been recorded.

Tables are programmed with Dispenser table by assigning a table no. and a name. This is the basis for the physical description of the drinks dispenser Dispenser description.

Programming of a table comprises

• Linkage to a company
• to a branch
• and - optional - to a POS terminal
• assignment of a table no.
• and a name.

New programming

A new data record is programmed from entry of a free no. in field Dispenser table.

Changes

Call up the appropriate data record by entering the no. in field Dispenser table. The data is shown on the screen mask. Make the necessary changes and store.

Clear

Mark the data records to be cleared and click onto button Delete. The query "Delete?" should then be confirmed with OK. Abort means that the entry will not be cleared. Please note that clearing is only possible if all prerequisites for this operation match.

Remarks on entry fields

The following description deals with all available options for update of this basic data.

As with nearly all programs the following also applies here:

• The entry mask for this program may differ in your MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program. Some entry fields may be missing
• There may be defaults for some entry fields. These cannot be updated in the current program.
• Fields with enforced entry defined are to be found in the entry masks as are fields where entry is optional.
• If the data record is updated over several pages of entry masks, the dialog fields are reached by clicking onto the appropriate button with <Mouse key 1>.

Company

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999

Enter the number of the company to which the dispenser table is to be linked. Normally, a default appears in this field.

Branch

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999

Enter the number of the branch to which the dispenser table is to be linked. Normally, a default appears in this field.

Dispenser table

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 99

If a new dispenser table is to be programmed, enter a free table no. of up to two digits.

Changes are possible after entry of the table no. to which the changes are to apply.

Name

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric max. 20 pos.

Enter a name for the table if a new one is to be programmed. If changes are necessary, the appropriate table should be called up from a no. entry and the name can then be amended.
