Remarks on program function

The (drinks) dispensers in use in the company not only have to be physically connected up, they must also be included in the program. Links to article, POS and drinks dispenser must also be established to allow an article to be recorded at each POS terminal.

Four programs define the functioning.

• A dispenser type no. and a name (normally the name of the type of dispenser) are assigned in program Dispenser type. The type no. functions as an index.
• A Dispenser table is then linked to a branch and a POS terminal with the program of the same name. Several dispenser tables can therefore be programmed per company, per branch and per POS terminal.
• The drinks dispensers are described in program Dispenser description which is called up from Dispenser table (interfaces, etc.).
• The drinks articles are linked to a type of dispenser with update in Article.

The graphic Dispenser shows the program interconnections.

Note:

• This interconnection is not necessary if the drinks dispensers are self-service. Please refer to Drinks dispenser.
• Self-service dispensers imply that all articles can be removed from the dispenser without any limitations as soon as a waiter is signed on. Please note that any waiter-related restrictions (e.g. table nos., etc.) are not relevant to recordings for drinks dispensers.
• Supervised dispensing implies that liquids can only be removed from the dispenser after the article has been recorded.

New programming

Enter a free dispenser type no. and make the entries described below.

Changes

Call up the appropriate data record by entering the Dispenser type no.. The data is shown in the screen mask. Make the relevant changes and save the entries.

Clear

Mark the data record to be cleared and then click onto button Delete. If the entry is to be cleared the query "Delete" should be confirmed with OK. Abort means that the entry will not be cleared. Please note that deleting is only possible if all prerequisites for this operation match.

Remarks on entry fields

The following description deals with all available options for update of this basic data.

As with nearly all programs the following also applies here:

• The entry mask for this program may differ in your MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program. Some data fields may be missing.
• There may be defaults for some entry fields. These cannot be updated in the current program.
• Fields with enforced entry defined are to be found in the entry masks as are fields where entry is optional.

Company

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999

Number of the company to which the dispenser is linked. This key field is normally not an entry field. Link for the dispenser is done via the program from which this program part has been called up.

Branch

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999

Number of the branch to which the dispenser is to be/has been linked. The branch no. is displayed after program call up.

Dispenser table

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 99

Number of the dispenser table to which the dispensers are to be/have been linked. The number is displayed after program call up.

Dispenser type

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 99

Enter the number of the dispenser. The name appears after confirmation. The dispenser type must have been programmed with Dispenser type before it can be described here.

Name

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric, max. 20 pos.

The name of the dispenser.

Installation

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999

Link of installation no. which has been programmed with Installation.

Processing unit

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999

Link of processing unit no. as programmed with Processing unit.

---

Device no.

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999

Link of device no. as programmed with Device.
