Realtime data transfer
In the standard version sales data,
statistics data, status data and transaction data are transferred from the
sub-installation to the main installation when a day is closed with function
"getStatistic". If the data is to be transferred permanently to the
main installation the "Message Queuing" function is required in MICROS Retail OSCAR POS
POS. The data is exported as an XML file in the sub-installation and is
transferred to the main installation with "Message Queuing". This data
is imported by head office.
Note:
Everytime the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS database is
converted two *.xsd files with the same consecutive no. each will be created
and these represent the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS database structure.
The file "OscarShemannnnn.xsd" includes the file
"TableSchemannnn.xsd".
These files are required for realtime data
transfer with exchange of XML data.
Please note that if a version update is
carried out first in the branch and realtime data transfer is applied the *xsd
files generated in the branch will have to be copied in head office to ensure
that the structure can exchange differing MICROS Retail OSCAR POS database XML data.
Normally, a version update is done in head
office to ensure that the current *.xsd files exist there
Warning!
After setting up this program data
export/data import can only be executed after the branch status has been
changed, i.e. after end of day. This ensures that the data import cannot be
continued during the current day or after an abort on the same day.
The prerequisite is that "Message
Queuing" is installed and activated on all system units involved.
The following settings must also be made in
the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program:
Settings in main installation
(head office)
- An application of type Realtime data transfer must be set up in
the system unit of the main installation (head office) to allow for
permanent data import in head office. The standard is that an application
of type "Realtime data transfer" with the name
"DFImport" is programmed in the database after call up of
"oscar dofgl.fgl Sprache".
- If additional applications of type Realtime data transfer are
required the user must program type Realtime
data transfer under System -> User interface -> Applications
Realtime data transfer. Enter a free
no. and the program name (e.g. DFImport_1).
- A Process unit of type “Client”
with the option "Graphic"
must be programmed under System -> Configuration
for program Realtime data transfer. The entry in field
"Program name" should match the name entered in program type Realtime
data transfer in field Name (DFImport_1). Please ensure correct
spelling. Then select the linked system unit of the main installation on
which the program Realtime data transfer is to be started
automatically. After stopping and starting the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application the
program to be started appears in a window on the screen of the linked
system unit..
- Parameter "Active" and the "File path" for
the XML import files must be set in System -> Configuration
-> Installation -> Button -> Realtime data transfer.
- The name of the message queue must be entered in field
"Local Queue" in System -> User interface ->
Application -> Realtime data transfer. This name must be
identical to the one in the target queue of the linked sub-installation in
program "Realtime data transfer parameter".
Settings in sub-installation
(branch)
The following parameters must be set for
XML data export in System -> Configuration -> Installation
-> Button -> Realtime data transfer
.
- File path = e.g. ..\work.XML\
- Target proc. = Host name of linked
main installation (head office).
- Target queue = Name of message
queue (this name must be identical to the name of the local queue of the
linked main installation in program System ->User interface ->
Application -> Realtime data transfer).
- File length / KB =Length of XML
export file (if the length is not achieved within the send timeout a new
export file will be created).
- Send –Timeout / min. = After this time (in minutes) has been exceeded the export
data is transferred to the main installation via Message Queuing.
- Active = this option must always be
set to ensure that data is exported via Message Queuing.
- Statistic = Statistics data is
exported.
- Status = Status data is exported
- Transakt. = Transaction data is exported.
Note:
If one of the three options: Statistics,
status or transaction is not active no branch status will be sent to head
office (main installation). This means that the missing data has to be
transferred to head office with function "getStatistik".
