Remarks on program function
The data of the internal MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application program type Data feed import can be updated, i.e. created, changed or deleted, with this program. Data which has already been stored can also be displayed.
The MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application allows statistics data, status data and transaction data to be transferred permanently from sub-installations to the main installation. Normally, this data is transferred to the main installation with function "getStatistic” after a new day in the branch of the sub-installation. If there is a specific reason why this data is to be available permanently in head office, i.e. not only after end of day report, this program should be created and the appropriate parameters should be updated.
- Create a program for Program type Data feed import under System -> User interface -> Applications. Assign a free number and enter the program name (e.g. DFImport).
- A Process unit of type "Client" should be created with option "Graphic" under System -> Configuration for the program POS status. Enter the name which has been assigned in program type Data feed import in field Program name. Please ensure that the spelling is identical. Select the linked system unit of the main installation on which the program Data feed import is to be started automatically. After the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application has been stopped and started the program to be started is shown in a window on the display of the linked system unit.

Remarks on data fields
The following description deals with all available options for update of this basic data.
As with nearly all other programs the following also applies here:
- The entry mask for this program may differ in your MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program. Some data fields may be missing.
- There may be defaults or firmly defined selection options for some data fields. These cannot be updated in the current program.
- Fields with enforced entry defined are to be found in the entry masks as are fields where entry is optional.
- If the data record is updated over several pages of entry masks, the dialog window is reached by clicking on the appropriate button with <Mouse key 1>.
- The same procedure also applies to call up of another update program from this program.
- In some cases you may find so-called "Switches" which are activated or deactivated by the user with <Mouse key 1>, depending on the setting. Activated switches have a dark top, deactivated switches are lighter.

Application
Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999
Enter the number of the application for which the data is to be updated. The number of the next free program can be ascertained automatically by clicking on button "Next free no.". The next free number is then shown in an information window.
Enter a free no. in the Key fields to create a new application.
If changes or deletions are necessary the data record is called up from entry of the number in the key fields. The data record can be selected via the Search function if the number is not known.
Description
Entry range permitted: alphanumeric max. 20 pos.
The internal name of the application, e.g. "DFImport" should be entered in this field. This name must be spelt the same as in the field Program name in the linked processing unit.

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric max. 20 pos.

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric max. 20 pos.

Local Queue Name
Entry range permitted: alphanumeric max. 20 pos.
The name of the message queue should be entered in this field. This name must be identical with the name of the target queue of the linked sub-installation in update program "Data feed import Parameter".
