Remarks on the Program Function

This program allows you to update data of the internal MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application Start FGL, i.e. create new data records, modify or delete data. Data which have already been stored can also be displayed for information purposes.

With the application Start FGL, you can start any FGL files or use a Scheduler to start them.

Depending on the program type, the individual programs are generally assigned to corresponding groups. The input mask for the programs of the corresponding group can vary because various data have to be updated for the program call-up, depending on the Program Type.

Remarks on the Input Fields

This paragraph will provide a short overview over the options available for updating these basic data

Just like in almost any other program:

• The input mask may be different in your MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program depending on the set-up of the application. In some cases some input fields may be missing.
• Some input fields may contain default values or defined selection options; these cannot be updated.
• The input mask contains some fields that require an entry and others in which entries are optional.
• If the data record is updated via multi-page input masks, go to the dialog window by clicking on the appropriate buttons with <Mouse key 1>.
• The same procedure applies to call up another update program from this program.
• In some cases you may find that so-called "Switches" which - depending on the default - can be activated or deactivated with <Mouse key 1>. Activated switches are identified by their dark colour, deactivated switches are lighter-coloured.

Application

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999

Enter the number of the application for which data is to be updated.

If a new data record is to be created enter a free no. in the key fields.

Changes or clearing operations can be carried out by calling up the data record with the appropriate no. entry in the key fields. The data record can also be selected with the search function.

Name

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric, max. 20 pos.

The internal name of the application is entered in this field.

FSM file

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric, max. 20 pos.

The internal name of the FSM file is entered in this field. FSM stands for Finite State Machine . The function procedures are defined in this file.

4GL file

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric, max. 20 chars.

The internal name of the 4GL file is entered in this field. 4GL is an interpreter language which is used to write the report program. The instructions in a 4GL file are interpreted during running time. Users who are acquainted with the 4GL language can adjust reports to suit their requirements.
