The program description is divided up as follows:

Remarks on program function

The MICROS Retail OSCAR POS standard application allows the user to reverse the function Update Installation. This is started by a DTM order of type "UPDATEINSTREMOTE" for the branch whereby the remote log files are read by head office and the database operations required for update of basic data can be carried out locally on the branch installation.

The following prerequisites apply:

  • A Process unit must be created under System -> Configuration for this application. The name already entered in field Name should be entered in field Program name. Please ensure that the spellings are identical.
  • A command of type UPDATEINSTREMOTE must be created in update program DTM command.

Note!
The internal application programs are integrated into the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program with this program. Changes to existing programs can only be made by an MICROS Retail Deutschland GmbH system supporter.

Remarks on data fields

The following details all options available for update of the basic data.

The following applies to this program:

  • The entry mask may differ in your MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program depending on the set-up of the user program. Some data fields may be missing.
  • Some data fields may have defaults or defined selection options so that they cannot be updated in this program.
  • The entry mask may contain fields with enforced entries, and in other fields entries may be optional.
  • If the data record is updated over several pages of entry masks the dialog window is reached by clicking on the appropriate button with <Mouse key 1>.
  • The procedure is the same if you want to call up another update program from this program.
  • In some cases you may find the so-called. "Switches" which are either activated or deactivated - depending on the setting - by clicking with <Mouse key 1>. Activated switches have a dark top, deactivated switches are lighter.

Select program type "Remote Update" by clicking on the field and then selecting the required option with a further click.

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999

If changes or deletions are necessary enter the data record no. in the key fields. If the number is not known, the Search function can be applied.

If a new application is to be created, a free number should be entered in the Key fields .

Note:
All available numbers can be found after activation of button "Next free no.". An information window is opened showing the next free number which can be used.

Description

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric max. 20 pos.

The name of the application "Remote Update" is entered here. Any name can be entered, but please ensure that it is obvious to allow for quick identification.

Note:
This name must be spelt in exactly the same way as in field Program name in program Process units.

FSM-File

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric max. 20 pos.

No entry necessary with an application of type "Remote Update".

4GL-File

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric max. 20 pos.

No entry necessary with an application of type "Remote Update".

Appl.group

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 99

No entry necessary with an application of type "Remote Update".

Access of operators to application sectors (sales, stock, organisation, etc.) can be restricted. This is done by defining access rights for a specific application group in a Group profile. It is also possible to define which activities can be completed by an operator in which sectors.

Changes in this entry field can only be done by an MICROS Retail Deutschland GmbH system supporter.
