Remarks on program function

The data of the internal MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application program type Touch server can be updated, i.e. programmed, changed or cleared, with this program. Data which has already been stored can also be displayed for information.

This application is required for a fast food configuration with production and preparation places.

Normally, individual programs are linked to the appropriate group. The entry mask for the programs of each group can vary as the data for program call-up to be updated depending on the Program type also differs.

The following description deals with all available options for update of this basic data.

Appl. name

Field with firmly defined selection options

Select one of the program types offered by clicking onto the field and defining what is required with another click.

The following program types are available:


Application

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999

Changes or clear operations are possible after entering the number of the data record in the key fields. If these are not known, they can be selected with Search.

If a new data record is to be programmed, a free number should be entered in the key fields.


Program name

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric max. 20 pos.

The internal name of the application should be entered in this field.

The following programs are part of the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS system:


FSM-File

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric max. 20 pos.

The internal name of the FSM file is entered in this field. FSM stands for Finite State Machine. The function procedures are defined in this file.


4GL-File

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric max. 20 pos.

The internal name of the 4GL file is entered in this field. 4GL is an interpreter language which is used to write the report program. The instructions in a 4GL file are interpreted during run time. Users who are acquainted with the 4GL language can adjust reports to suit their requirements.


Appl.group

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 99

Enter the number of the application group which is to be linked to this application.

If the number is not known, select the data record with Search.

Access by operators to application areas (sales, stocks, organisation, etc.) can be limited by defining access authorisations for programs in an application group in the group profile. This defines which activities can be carried out by which operator in which sectors.


Form no.

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 99999999

Enter the number of the form of this application in this field. The frame no. refers to a form which defines the layout of the program window as it appears on the screen.


Prep.frame name

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric max. 20 chars.

The frame name " PrepFrame" which is used for the touchscreen of a preparation place in a fast food system is entered here.

Production form name

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric, max. 20 pos.

Form name " ProdFrame" is entered in this field to identify the screen mask of a production location in a fast-food system.
