Remarks on program function
The data of internal MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application programs type ECR application can be updated with this program, i.e. new data can be programmed, existing data can be changed or cleared. Stored data can also be displayed for information purposes only.
Normally, individual programs, depending on the type of program, are linked to the appropriate group. The entry mask for the programs of the group concerned can differ as the Program type defines which data is to be updated for program call-up.
Remarks on data fields
The following details all options available for update of basic data.
As in nearly all programs the following also applies here:
- The entry
mask in your MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application program may differ for this
program.
Some data fields may be missing. - There may be some defaults for firmly defined selection options for some data fields. These cannot be updated in the current program.
- Fields with enforced entry defined are to be found in the entry mask as are fields where entry is optional.
- If the data record is updated over several pages of entry mask the dialog window is reached by clicking onto the appropriate button with <Mouse key 1>.
- The same procedure also applies to call up of another update program from this program.
- In some cases you may find so-called "Switches" which are activated or deactivated by the user with <Mouse key 1> depending on the setting. Activated switches have a dark top, deactivated switches are lighter.

Call up the data record by entering the number in the key fields if changes or cancellations are necessary. Search can be used to find the data record if the number is not known.

Program name
Entry range permitted: max. 20 pos.
The internal name for the application program for ECRs is entered in this field. This name must be entered in program Process unit for the linked ECR in field program name.
The name of the ECR program concerned is unique and means the following:

Specific screen layouts should be linked in field Touch layout to program ECR for screen-based ECRs. The settings are dependent on the ECR program in use.
Note:
If an installation is operated with system
units which work under operating system LINUX only the ECR programs marked in
the following table with "_X" can be started.
Please bear in mind
The functionality of the ECR applications "PayPos" and
"BoPos" are integrated into the ECR programs but are switched off in
the form fields. If they are required here, switch "Off/On" must be
set to "On" in program System -> User interface -> Forms -> Form fields.
The ECR programs for "PayPos" and "BoPos" can be found in
the tables in the documentation "PayPos/Bopos".

The internal name of the FSM file is entered here. FSM stands for Finite State Machine . The functions are defined in these files.
4GL-File
Entry range permitted: alphanumeric max. 20 pos.
The internal name of the 4GL file is entered in this field. 4GL is an interpreter language with which report programs are written. Commands of a 4GL file are interpreted during the running time. Users with a knowledge of the 4GL language can adapt reports to meet their own requirements.
Appl.group
Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 99
Enter the number of the application group which is to be linked to this application.
The data record can be searched for with Search.
Access by operators to application areas (sales, stock, organisation, etc.) can be restricted. This is done by defining certain access authorisations in a Group profile. The user defines which operators can deal with which activities in which sectors.
