The program description deals with the following:

Remarks on program function

Data of the internal MICROS Retail OSCAR POS POS application program, type Menu, can be updated with this program, i.e. new data can be programmed, other data can be changed or cleared. Stored data can also be displayed for information purposes.

Individual programs, independent of the program type, are linked to the appropriate groups. The entry mask for the programs of each group can differ as data for the program call-up has to be updated depending on the Program type.


Remarks on data fields

All options available for update of the basic data are described below.

As with nearly all programs the following applies here:

A free no. should be entered in the key fields for a new programming operation.

Changes or clear operations can be carried out after call-up of the data record with a no. entry in the key fields. The data record can also be selected with the Search.

Field with firmly defined selection options

Select one of the types of program displayed by clicking onto the field and then double clicking onto the program type required.

The following types are available:


Application

Entry range permitted: numeric, 1 - 9999

Enter the appropriate data record no. in the key fields if changes or clear operations are necessary. Search can be used to find the correct data record if the number is not known.

Enter a free no. in the key fields if a new data record is to be programmed.


Description

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric, max. 20 pos.

The internal name of the application should be entered in this field.


FSM-File

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric, max. 20 pos.

The internal name of the FSM file is entered in this field. FSM stands for Finite State Machine. The functions are defined in these files.


4GL-File

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric, max. 20 pos.

The internal name of the 4GL file is entered here. 4GL is an interpreter language with which report programs can be written. The commands of 4GL are interpreted during the run time. Users who are acquainted with the 4GL language can adapt the reports to suit their requirements.


Appl.group

Entry range permitted: numeric, 1 - 99

The number of the application group to which this application is to be linked should be entered in this field.

The data record can be selected via the Search.

Access by users to application sectors (sales, stocks, organisation etc.) can be restricted. This is done by defining access authorisations for programs in an application group in a group profile. This defines which operator can handle which activities in which sectors.


Form no.

Entry range permitted: numeric, 1 - 99999999

The number of the form for this application is entered here. The form no. refers to the layout of the program window (as it appears on the screen).


Autom.sign off

Entry range permitted: numeric, 1 - 9999 (entry in minutes)

This field contains an entry in minutes informing when an automatic operator log-off at the administration workplace is to be carried out. If no activity is recorded at the workplace during the time defined, the operator who had signed on will be automatically signed off and the sign-on window for another operator appears on the screen.


Pre select

Switch active: The defaults for Company and Branch defined under Parameter -> Presets apply.
Switch deactivated: The defaults for Company and Branch will be cleared after a restart of the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application.
