The program description deals with the following:
Data of the internal MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application program, type Details, can be updated with this program, i.e. new data can be programmed, other data can be changed or cleared. Stored data can also be displayed for information purposes.
Individual programs, independent of the program type, can be linked to the appropriate groups. The entry mask for the programs of each group can differ as a variety of data has to be updated for program call-up as per Program type.
All options available for update of the basic data have been described below.

Select one of the program types offered by clicking onto the field and double clicking onto the program type required.
The following program types are offered:
Entry range permitted: numeric, 1 - 9999
Changes or clear operations are completed after call-up of the data record from entry of a number in the key fields.
The Search can be used to find the data record required.
Enter a free no. in the key fields to program a new data record.
Entry range permitted: alphanumeric, max. 20 pos.
The internal name of the application should be entered here.
Entry range permitted: alphanumeric, max. 20 pos.
The internal name of the FSM file should be entered here. FSM stands for Finite State Machine. The functions are defined in these files.
Entry range permitted: alphanumeric, max. 20 pos.
The internal name of the 4GL file is entered in this field. 4GL is an interpreter language with which the report programs are written. The commands of a 4GL file are interpreted during the running time. A user who is acquainted with the 4 GL language can adapt reports to suit the requirements of the operation.

This field accepts entry of the number of the application group which is to be linked to this application.
If the number is not known, the Search can be used to find the required data record.
Access by operators to application areas (sales, stocks, organisation etc.) can be restricted. Access authorisations for programs in an application group are defined in a group profile. This defines which activities can be handled by which operator in which sector.

Enter the number of the frame of this application in this field. The frame no. refers to a form in which the layout of the program window (as it appears on the screen) is defined.

Enter the name of the object of this application in this field. The name of the database table is the object (e.g. article, ListItem etc.).

The internal no. of the main application is shown in this field.
Entry range permitted: alphanumeric, max. 20 pos.
Enter the name of the reference of this application in this field.
Switch activated: During a clear operation for the main application the additional data will be cleared automatically
Switch deactivated: Clear operation for the main application is only possible after the additional data linked to the main application has been cleared.
