The program description
deals with the following:
The data of the internal
MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application program type Scheduler can be updated, i.e. programmed,
changed or cleared, with this program. Data which has already been stored can
also be displayed for information.
The MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application
allows MICROS Retail OSCAR POS update programs and external system commands (batch program) to be started
automatically at defined times. For example, the weekday, a specific day in the
month and the time can be defined. The procedures required and the start time
are entered in the update program scheduler position.
The following
prerequisites apply:
A review of the programs in
the scheduler are to be found in the Graphics: Programming a scheduler.
Normally, individual
programs are linked to the appropriate group. The entry mask for the programs
of each group can vary as the data for program call-up to be updated depending
on the Program type also differs.
The following description
deals with all available options for update of this basic
data.
As with nearly all programs
the following also applies here:
Field with firmly
defined selection options
Select type of program Scheduler by clicking onto
the field and then defining the required type of program with a second click.
The following types
of program are available:
Entry range permitted:
numeric 1 - 9999
Enter the number of the
application which is to be updated.
If a new application is to
be programmed, enter a free number in the key fields.
Changes or clear operations
are possible after entering the number of the data record in the key fields. If
these numbers are not known, they can be selected with the search
function.
Entry range permitted:
alphanumeric max. 20 pos.
The internal name of the
application should be entered in this field. The same name as in field Appl. Name in the update
program Scheduler position should be entered for programs type Scheduler.
Entry range permitted:
alphanumeric max. 20 pos.
The internal name of the
FSM file is entered in this field. FSM stands for Finite State Machine. The
function procedure is defined in this file.
Entry range permitted:
alphanumeric max. 20 pos.
The internal name of the
4GL file is entered in this field. 4GL is an interpreter language which is used
to write the report program. The instructions in a 4GL file are interpreted
during running time. Users who are acquainted with the 4GL language can adjust
reports to suit their requirements.
Entry range permitted:
numeric 1 - 99
Enter the number of the
application group to which this application is to be linked.
If the number is not known,
select the data record with Search.
Access by operators to
applications areas (sales, stocks, organisation, etc.) can be limited by
defining access authorisations for programs in an application group in the group
profile. This
defines which activities can be carried out by which operator in which sectors.

Enter the number of the
frame of this application in this field. The frame no. refers to a form which
defines the layout of the program window as it appears on the screen.
