Remarks on the Program Function

In the program Form Fields, all fields of a form / a screen page can be maintained. The field type, field length, position within the screen page, print type (e.g. bold print for the primary key fields) etc. are defined. The left side of the sales window (e.g. key texts) is maintained via entries in this window, too.

In the (optically) bipartite screen page, the parameters referring to all fields are set on the left side, on the right side, the field-specific entries are made, depending on the field selection.

Attention!

• This program should be executed in exceptional cases only.
• If you make changes, they generally refer to text modifications or the taking out or insertion of particular fields in/from the screen mask (option: Dis/Enable). Via the option always/never/keep disabled in the program Form, you can define how to deal with changes in cases of new releases.

Remarks on the Input Fields

This paragraph will provide a short overview over the options available for updating these basic data

Just like in almost any other program:

• The input mask may be different in your MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program depending on the set-up of the application. In some cases some data fields may be missing.
• Some input fields may contain default values or defined selection options; these cannot be updated.
• The input mask contains some fields that require an entry and others in which entries are optional.
• If the data record is updated via multi-page input masks, go to the dialog window by clicking on the appropriate buttons with <Mouse key 1>.
• The same procedure applies to call up another update program from this program.

• In some cases you may find that so-called "Switches" which - depending on the default - can be activated or deactivated with <Mouse key 1>. Activated switches are identified by their dark color, deactivated switches are lighter-colored.

Frame No.

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 9999999

Every form (= every screen page/mask) is recorded in the system with a unique number. This number is entered in this field. If the window has been entered via the program Form, the corresponding frame number is already displayed.

Field Number

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 99999999

Every field has to be stored in the system with a unique number.

Note:

• Do not make any changes here.

Parent Field

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 99999999

Every subordinate field has to be assigned to the parent field. The assignment takes place by entering the corresponding field number.

Field Name

Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max. 20 chars.

Internal name of the form field. In connection with the Table Name, this name becomes unique.

Note:

• Do not make any changes here.

Table Name

Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max. 20 chars.

Internal name of the table (= the frame).

The combination of the table name and the field name make the field unique within the screen mask, e.g. the field Article_ArtSelctNo3 (Field: 3rd Selection in the program Item) exists only once within the entire MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application.

Notes:

• Do not make any changes here.
• With some fields, the entry of the table name is missing. This points out that this special field is an input field in the related window but the entered value is stored in another field.
  Example:
  In the window Safe Closing, you can make entries in the fields Quantity and Value. However, the entries are written immediately to the fields Quantity Decl. and Value Decl..

Name

Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max. 20 chars.

A field entry is only to be made if this is a field of the Field Type Edit Drop (single-line list field).

Dis/Enable

Field with firmly defined selection options.

• Disable
  The field is faded out, i.e. it is not displayed in the screen mask. However, it has not been deleted and can be re-activated via Enable.
• Enable
  The field is displayed in the screen mask.

The MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application uses its own color palette which can be maintained in the update program User interface -> Applications ->Administration -> UiColor. You can enhance the color table with additional colors or modify the given color values.
