Configuration of the Foreign Currency with enforced Float Entry
You want to create the foreign currency US Dollar and
configure the enforced float entry for it.
In the following example, the domestic currency is
Euro.
Go to Parameters -> Payments -> Payment Type (in the following, only the most
important parameters will be described):
- Enter a free "Payment Type No."
- Enter a "Name".
- Select the Euro currency "No EWU
country" for countries that do not belong to the European Monetary
Union. When selecting an EMU country, open the dropdown menu and choose
the desired country. For this example, choose “No EWU country”.
- If your domestic currency is a non-EMU currency,
enter the exchange rate of the foreign currency towards the Euro because
the conversion always takes place via the Euro. If your domestic currency
is an EMU currency, the exchange rate will be displayed automatically in
the window “Exchange Rate”. In this example, the exchange rate amounts to
0.9697, which is to be entered here.
- Select the category "Foreign Currency".
- Currency Symbol: "$"
- Currency Unit: "1"
- Decimal Digits: "2"
- Save your entries.
Open the window Payment
parameter:
- Assign a terminal type.
- Activate the option „Change enforced“.
- Activate the option "Open Drawer".
- Close the window.
Open the window Exchange
Rate:
- Assign the branch.
- Configure the exchange rates. Please note that
the exchange rates are only to be updated if both the domestic and the
foreign currencies are non-EMU currencies.
- Close the window.
- Save your entries of the windows "Payment
parameter"
- and "Exchange Rate" in the window
"Payment Type" via the Save key.
