Supervisor Key Function: Examples
1. Operator with Supervisor Key Function executes the function for
themselves
If the operator with supervisor key function is signed
on at the terminal, they carry out the process, for which lock position 2 would
normally be necessary, in the same way as if there was a lock. Therefore, this
process will not be dealt with.
2. Operator with Supervisor Key Function executes the function for
another Cashier
Example: Layaway Receipt in Lock Position 2
Operator 3 is registering and has to carry out the function Layaway Receipt. This function may only be
carried out in lock position 2. A function lock is not available, though. For
operator 6, the option Supervisor Key is activated in the program Operator. (A detailed description of the Receipt
layaway can be found in the chapter Lay
aside/retrieve Receipt).
- Layaway Receipt
- Operator 3 has booked and tries to lay away the
receipt. The system reports "Lock Position". Operator 6 with
the supervisor key function is called.
- First, the system message is confirmed via the
key <C>. Then, operator 6 enters the operator number and confirms
via the supervisor key, key code: AUTORIZE (MF keyboard: 6:AUTORIZE <Pos1> or
<RETURN>; Pos1
in UNIX, RETURN in WINDOWS
NT).
- On the display, Secret Number appears. Operator 6 enters the secret
number and confirms it via ST.
If operator 6 has no secret number, the default value 0 has to be entered
and confirmed.
- Then, operator 3 can carry out the relevant
function by pressing the Layaway Receipt key(RECLS).
- The "Lock Position 2" state of the
terminal is removed since the "receipt layaway" closes the
receipt and finishes the supervisor key function automatically at the
same time with the receipt closing.
- Retrieve Receipt
- Operator 6 enters the operator number and
confirms via the AUTORIZE key.
- Subsequently, the secret number is entered.
- The receipt is retrieved via the RECLS key.
- Operator 3 continues the booking as usual.
- As soon as the receipt is closed, the terminal
is in its previous lock position again.
