Remarks on program function

Update basic data, i.e. programming, changing or clearing, is possible with this program. Data which has already been stored can be displayed for information.

Discount tables for suppliers who grant percentage discounts for specific minimum purchase amounts are programmed here.

The following applies to all discounts:

• They apply to all articles purchased from the supplier.
• If the user changes to the appropriate discount program from program Supplier article, the discount only applies to the article shown on the screen. Please note: A discount programmed for an article has priority over a general article discount.

All types of discounting are handled in two steps:

1. Step 1: The formal data of a discount is programmed as a discount table (with discount table no. and name) and is linked to the supplier.
   
   The following programs are available:
• Discount perc.discount on quantity
• Discount perc.discount as from value
• Discount disc.on value on quantity
• Discount disc.on value as from value
• Discount disc.in kind on quantity
• Discount disc.in kind as from value.
2. Step 2: Programming a discount, i.e. a discount no. is assigned and the discount (percentage, value, discount in kind) is defined together with the quantity/value as from which the discount is to be granted.
   
   This is programmed with:
• Discount perc. on quantity
• Discount perc.on value
• Discount value on quantity
• Discount value as from value
• Discount in kind on quantity
• Discount in kind as from value

Remarks on data fields

The following description deals with all available options for update of this basic data.

As with nearly all programs the following also applies here:

• The entry mask for this program may differ in your MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program. Some data fields may be missing.
• There may be defaults or firmly defined selection options for some data fields. These cannot be updated in the current program.
• Fields with enforced entry defined are to be found in the entry masks as are fields where entry is optional.
• If the data record is updated over several pages of entry masks, the dialog window is reached by clicking onto the appropriate button with <Mouse key 1>.
• The same procedure also applies to call up of another update program from this program.
• In some cases you may find so-called "Switches" which are activated or deactivated by the user with <Mouse key 1>, depending on the setting. Activated switches have a dark top, deactivated switches are lighter.

Company

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999

Enter the number of the company which handle discount update.

If the number is not known, the data record can be selected with the search function.

Supplier no.

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 999999

Enter the number of the supplier who is granting the discount.

If the number is not known, the data record can be selected with the search function.

Discount table no.

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 99

Number of the discount table to which the discount is to be/has been linked.

Discount no.

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 5

A number must be programmed for every discount no. in the system. Several numbers per discount table are permitted.

Discount percentage

Entry range permitted: decimal max. 5 pos. incl. max. 2 decimal places

Enter the percentage rate which is granted by the supplier for the minimum quantity defined in the next field.

Discount percentage as from quantity

Entry range permitted: decimal max. 11 pos., no decimal places

Enter the minimum quantity to be delivered to be entitled to the discount entered in the previous field.
