Flight data

The program description deals with the following:

Remarks on program function

The flight data can be updated, i.e. created, changed or deleted, with this program. Data which has already been stored can also be displayed.

Note:
The data for the airport is stored in the system and is needed for purchases of duty-free goods at the airport. A background system provides this data in ASCII format which is then imported via the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS ASCII interface.

Click on the graphic for further help with setting up a Duty-free system.

Remarks on data fields

All options available for update of the basic data have been described below.

As with nearly all programs the following also applies here:

Company

Entry range permitted: numeric, 1 - 9999

Enter a number to identify the company for which the flight data is to be processed.

If changes or deletions are necessary the data record can be called up from a number entry in the key fields. An unknown data record can be selected via the Search function.

Branch

Entry range permitted: numeric, 1 - 99999

Enter a number to identify the branch for which the flight data is to be processed.

If changes or deletions are necessary the data record can be called up from a number entry in the key fields. An unknown data record can be selected via the Seach function.

Flight no.

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric, max. 8 chars.

Enter the flight no. for which the flight data is to be processed.

If changes or deletions are necessary the data record can be called up from a number entry in the key fields. An unknown data record can be selected via Search function.

Valid at

Entry range permitted: DDMMYYYY (day, month, year)

Enter the data for the flight date.

Note:
The validity of a flight is not dependent on the validity date and the time. A flight is valid from 18:00 hrs. the previous day to 06:00 hrs on the following day. If date t 31.12.2099 is entered this flight data is still valid.

Destination airport

Entry range permitted: decimal, max. 11 pos.

Select a destination airport by clicking on the field and with a second click confirming the option selected.

The destination airport and the airport data are imported by a background system via the ASCII interface and can be updated via Application -> Organisation -> Airport.

Note:

The destination airport has a code linked to it which defines whether the destination is inland (I), within the EU (E), outside the EU (N) or on the Canary Islands (K). This code defines the price for items sold in the duty-free sector. If an item priced at "0.00" is sold in the duty-free shop this recording is rejected with message "Iteem blocked". Cigarettes, for example, cannot be purchased for inland flights. This item is priced "0.00" in the standard price level and items with this price can only be sold in the duty-free sector for flight destination codes "N" or "K". In this case the spezial price level 1 is selected for this item.

Flight dest.code

Field with firmly defined selection options

The code for the destination airport is shown in this field.

The codes imply the following:

Note:
The price finding for sales of goods in the duty-free sector is dependent on the linked code for the destination.
