Loyalty Table
The
following program description deals with:
By
use of this program you can maintain the loyalty tables in the system, i.e.,
insert new tables, change or delete the existing ones. You can also display the
data on the screen for enquiry only.
MICROS Retail OSCAR POS
provides the facility, to give loyalty points to specific customers based on
their purchase amounts. The values of the individual loyalty points are defined
specifically for individual customers.
The
setting up of customer loyalty value is done in two steps, i.e., via 2
programs:
- First set up a loyalty table using the program Loyalty Table where you
- enter a company for the table,
- assign a number for the table,
- define the value of each individual loyalty
point,
- and assign a name to the table.
- In the second step, the positions are defined.
Here, the loyalty is determined for the purchase amount. This is described
in the section Loyalty Positions. There you
will find an example for the application.
Note:
- A general description of the loyalty system
(incl. Calculation examples) can be found
under Loyalty points:
Programming and cashing in.
- The loyalty can only be given to a customer if a loyalty
parameter is set in a record. This is done by the entering a valid value
in the Loyalty Table field in the the Customer
maintenance program. The loyalty point system must also have been
configured on Company level (field: Loyalty type).
- The loyalty can be obtained in 3 different ways:
- By means of a discount during posting. (In this
case, a customer loyalty
discount has to be also defined in the Price Change Type program.
- By means of a Coupon 1 (see the maintenance
program of Company).
- By means of a Coupon 2 (see the maintenance
program of Company).
- The loyalty points will be computed and stored in
the system. By each purchase, if the amount exceeds the defined minimum
purchase amount, new loyalty points will be given to the customer and
added to a loyalty account.
- If the purchase total is settled with loyalty
points, no change will be given (e.g. the customer buys goods valued at
EUR 19.98 and cashes in loyalty points worth EUR 20.00. No change will be
given).
- An overview of the actual loyalty point status of
a customer can be obtained from the Report Customer
Status.
Remarks on the Input Fields
This
paragraph will provide a short overview over the options available for updating
these Basic Data.
Just
like in almost any other program:
- The Input Mask may
be different in your MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program depending on the set-up of the
application. In some cases some Data Fields may be missing.
- Some input fields may contain default values or
defined selection options; these cannot be updated.
- The input mask contains some fields that require
an entry and others in which entries are optional.
- If the data record is updated via multi-page
input masks, go to the Dialog Window by
clicking on the appropriate buttons with <Mouse key 1>.
- The same procedure applies to call up another
update program from this program.
- In some cases you may find that so-called
"Switches" which - depending on the default - can be activated
or deactivated with <Mouse key 1>. Activated switches are identified
by their dark color, deactivated switches are lighter-colored.
Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 9999
Enter
the number of the company for which the table is to be set up. If you do not
know the number, you can also select the data record via the Search Function.
Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 9999
Each
table stored in the system has to be defined with a unique number. For creating
a new record, an unused number is to be entered into this Key Field.
For
changes or deletions, retrieve the records by entering the numbers into this
field. If you do not know the number, you can also select the data record via
the Search Function.
Permitted input range: decimal, max. 12 digits
including max. 2 decimal places
A
specific value is assigned to each loyalty point. Enter the appropriate value
for a loyalty point. Posting of the loyalty points will be based on this value.
Note:
A
change to the point value would
affect the loyalty points already collected.
Example: The customer has 10 points each worth 0,50 EUR. If you change the
value per point to 1,00 EUR this customer would have a new loyalty value of
10,00 EUR.
If changes are to be made, these should be made in the Position of oyalty table by modifying the points count.
Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max 20
characters
Enter
into this field the name of the table. Use meaningful texts such as "1
point/EUR$10 as from EUR100".
