Remarks on program function

The data for the Miles & More bonus type can be updated, i.e. created, changed or deleted, with this program. Data which has already been stored can also be displayed.

Miles & More customers can earn bonus miles from certain promotions or special offers. Various "Miles & More bonus types" are therefore stored in the system under a dedicated number.

 

The number for the Miles & More bonus typecan be called up with key event <MMBONUS>. If a Miles & More card has not yet been swiped the terminal asks the operator to do so. Bonus mile recordings are only possible after the M&M card has been swiped.

 

The entries made here determine the calculation of the programmed M&M bonus type. The bonus miles calculated are shown on the receipt.

 

The example below shows how bonus miles are calculated:

 

The earned miles are multiplied as defined. The result represents the total number of miles earned. In the above example this is 60 and 20 of them are normally earned and the other 40 are bonus miles which have been credited.

Remarks on data fields

All options available for update of the basic data have been described below.

As with nearly all programs the following also applies here:


Company

Entry range permitted: numeric, 1 - 9999

Enter the number of the company for which the Miles & More bonus types are to be processed.

If changes or deletions are necessary the data record can be called up from a number entry in the key fields. An unknown data record can be selected via the Search function.


Bonus type

Entry range permitted: numeric, 1 - 9999

Enter the number for the bonus type in this field.

This number is called up with key event <MMBONUS> if, for example, bonus miles are to be credited on the basis of an external credit voucher.


Descriptor

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric, max. 20 chars.

Define a name for this Miles & More bonus type.


Multiplicator

Entry range permitted: numeric, 1 - 9999

Enter a value to define the multiplicator for calculating bonus miles.

Example: Calculation of bonus miles:

 

The earned miles are multiplied by the entry under Multiplicator. The result is the total number of miles earned. In the example above = 60. 20 of these are normal miles and the remaining 40 have been credited as bonus miles.
