The following program description deals with:
By use of this program you can update the data for a user network, i.e. insert new records, edit and delete the existing ones. You can also display the data on the screen for enquiry only.
The MICROS Retail OSCAR POS system is operated under a user network, in which the entire configuration of hardware and software is defined and illustrated. In the system, there is one user network only and it is at the top of the entire system hierarchy.
A central Installation where all the hardware and software of a local installation have to be defined has to be assigned to the user network.
In the system, a total of 9998 sub-installations can be defined and their data can be administered from the head office.
This paragraph will provide a short overview over the options available for updating these Basic Data.
Just like in almost any other program:
Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max. 8 characters
Enter the abbreviated name of the user network.
Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max 32 characters
In this input field a detailed descriptive name can be entered for the user network.
Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max 32 characters
Enter the address of the user who is the system administrator of the user network.
Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max 32 characters
Enter the address of the user who is the system administrator of the user network.
Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max 32 characters
Enter the address of the user who is the system administrator of the user network.

Enter the name of the contact person doing system support for this user network.
Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max 16 characters
Enter the telephone number of the contact person doing system support for this user network..

Enter into this input field the telephone number of an existing fax machine.
Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max 16 characters
Enter the telephone number of the modem which is set up for data communication.
Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 9999
Enter the number of the installation to be assigned to the user network. To add a new record, enter an unused number in these Key Fields.
For changes or deletions, the records can be retrieved by entering the numbers in the key fields. If you do not know a number, you can also select the data record via the Search Function.

The entry in this field defines the background colour for the title bar in the update prgoram. This is activated with option "Titlebar display" and the mask is then created (e.g. execute command "oscar UiArticle.fgl Sprache" or "oscar dofgl.fgl Sprache" for all windows for the window of the update program)

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric, max. 16 Zeichen
Enter the name and the path of the bitmap file which is to be shown in the title bar. Default bitmaps are shown.

Enter the no. of the colour for the positions in the table of the update program which are to be shown as an alternative to the background colour. The colour changes become effective directly after stopping and starting the administration workplace.

Enter one of the following values in this field to colour-emphasise the selected entry field or the cursor.
The colours for foreground and background are defined with parameters OMOUSEMODE1FGCOLORNO= n and OMOUSEMODE1BGCOLORNO= n. The colours linked to the nos. can be found in the Colour table.

Field with firmly defined selection options
Select one of the options offered as the default setting for the NumLock key by clicking onto the field and then a second click onto the option required.
The system offers the following options:

With the NumLock key the NumPad can be used to enter digits (NumLock on) or to
be used as cursor keys (NumLock off); thereby the numeric keys 4, 8, 6 and 2
are used for direction keys, and the numeric key 1 is used as the end key etc.
Field with firmly defined selection options
Select one of the options offered as the default setting for the CapsLock key by clicking onto the field and then a second click onto the option required.
The system offers the following options:

By pressing the CapsLock key (above the left Shift key) the keyboard is locked
to enter only upper case letters.
Button activated: The
title bar is shown in the update program window.
Button deactivated: No title bar is shown in the update program window.

NOTE!
If this option is active the windows of the update program must be re-created.
Button activated: In SDI-Modus
(Single Document Interface) the last window position will be stored.
Button deactivated: In SDI-Modus (Single Document Interface) the last
window position will not be stored.
Note:
The stored windows position will be used to open the same frame at the last
stored (same) display position.
Button activated: The
search dialog window will be closed when clicking outside the dialog window.
Button deactivated: The search dialog window will not be
closed when clicking outside the dialog window.
Button activated: After
the data was changed the dialog "Safe changes?" will also appear when
leaving a sub frame.
Button deactivated: After the data was changed the dialog "Safe
changes?" will only appear when leaving a main frame.
Button activated: Die
Ctrl-help text can be edited directly in the mask of each program.
Button deactivated: Die Ctrl-help text can not be edited
directly in the mask of each program. Only with the program Application ->
System -> User Interface -> CTRL-Help text the tool tips can be
changed.
Button activated: The
selected text in POS dialog windows will be market completely.
Button deactivated: The selected text in POS dialog windows will
not be market completely.
By entering the value 1 or 2, you can influence the article display in the search dialog window of the Pos when searching for items.
Following values change the display in the search dialog window of Pos:
1. In the search dialog window dialog when searching for items the POS will display the "Item descriptor", the "Key text", "Text 1" and the "Item price".
2. The item search dialog windows will additionally display the "Text 2" and the "Key text" from the Item mask.
Button activated: .For the
POS-Type "Kasse2_To" the MICROS logo will be displayed in the status bar.
Button deactivated: For the POS-Type "Kasse2_To" the MICROS logo will
not be displayed in the status bar.
Button activated: .For the
POS-Type "Kasse2_To" the product version will be displayed in the status bar.
Button deactivated: For the POS-Type "Kasse2_To" the product
version will not be displayed in the status bar.
