Totalizer-INdependent graduated Discounts

The MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application allows you to configure – graduated by minimum purchase sums - discounts that are independent from totalizers. The procedure will be outlined in the following.

Note:

• Please note that price changes will only become effective with discountable items (activation of the option Price Change Permit in the window Item).

Window: Price Change Type

• Create the new discount by entering a new markup/ down number.
• Enter a name.
• Select the category Discount.
• Select the Vat rate on which the price change is to be based. If you want to give surcharges/discounts independent of the VAT rate, you can also create a VAT rate with 0 percent and assign it.
• Deactivate the option Totaliser dependent.
  Explanation:
  By not activating this option, you make sure that the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application considers totalizers when giving discounts.
• Activate the option Price Change %.
  Explanation:
  You have to activate the option Price Change % to be able to make effective entries in the price change table at all.
• Save your entries.

Window: Price Change Table

• Enter the totalizer number "0". (You can also enter any other totalizer.)
  Important is:
  Enter graduated discounts with one single totalizer number only (here: "0"). If you enter more than one totalizer, all data records would be calculated in sequence.
• Enter the sum to be reached in the field Minimum Value 1,
• to make sure the percent discount entered / to be entered in the field Percent Value 1 will be given.
• Make the appropriate entries in the other minimum value and percent fields.
• You can configure up to 20 graduated discounts per totalizer.
• Save your entries in the window Price Change Type.
