Default Scan Method for Pick Pack Verification (K30)

Purpose: Use this screen to define the item barcode scan method to use in pick pack verification and to use when generating the item label.

Code field: Enter the barcode format to use at the Pick Pack Verification Screen. Possible formats are:

SHORTSKU: the short SKU code from the SKU table. This code is displayed at the Display SKU screen for a SKU’d item, or the Display Item (Base Information) screen for a non-SKU’d item. The system assigns this code when you create a SKU or a non-SKU’d item.

The remaining formats use the UPC code, as set up through the Work with UPC Codes Screen. The different lengths indicate when the Pick Pack Verification Screen should automatically process the item after that number of positions have been scanned. If you use UPC codes, you would normally set this value to the shortest length that accommodates your longest UPC codes.

UPC08: a UPC code of 8 positions

UPC12: a UPC code of 12 positions

UPC13: a UPC code of 13 positions

UPC14: a UPC code of 14 positions

Note: Include any leading zeros. For example, if the UPC code is 06012011, enter 06012011 and not 6012011.

Regardless of the setting of this system control value, you have the option at the Pick Pack Verification Screen to change entry format so that you can enter the actual item and SKU codes; however, you do not have the option of changing to a different barcode format. For example, you cannot change from a UPC format to SHORTSKU format.

You must have an entry in this system control value in order to use the Working with Pick/Pack Verification (WPPV) option.

Item label format: The system also uses this barcode format when you generate item labels. You can generate item labels through pick/pack verification.

Leave this field blank if you are not using pick pack verification or are not generating the item label.
